The Living at Home of the Park Rapids Area board of directors is composed of up to ten individuals who represent the geographic areas served by our program. The board members provide expertise in their professional areas and include representation of our senior population.

Matthew Kaufenberg - President

Matt is a physical therapist and the Rehab Services Manager at St. Joseph’s Area Health Services. Originally from Park Rapids, Matt received his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the College of St. Catherine in 1999. He began his career in Warroad, MN working in a variety of clinical settings. In 2001 he joined Multicenter Physical Therapy in Roseville, MN where he served as their clinic supervisor. He accepted his current position in April of 2011. Matt has travelled the country as an instructor with Clinical Specialty Education, teaching a course entitled Shoulder Rehabilitation and Treatment. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and its Sports Physical Therapy Section. He is married to Sarah and has 2 children, Leo and Laura, both ages 6.

Sarah Luther - Vice President

Sarah began her role as Director of Nursing for our local Essentia clinics Dec. 2013- Menahga, Walker and Park Rapids. She has been in the nursing career for 20 years now. She resides in Park Rapids, her husband JT works as a high school Biology teacher and are parents to Coley- 11, Kasen-10, Kiften-4 and Ketch- 3. She coaches Volleyball and enjoys all sports.

Kathy Anderson - Treasurer/ Secretary

Kathy is a Park Rapids native, and moved away. She and her husband Jeff returned 25 years ago, and she has worked as an insurance agent at Avenson Insurance ever since. Her volunteer experience includes the American Cancer Society, Chamber Ambassadors and St. Joseph’s Foundation. She says, “I truly enjoy seniors, and believe in giving back.”

Carol Kriesel

Carol and her husband Gary moved to Park Rapids from the Twin Cities area in 1977. Carol went to work for Citizen's National Bank and has been there going on 39 years, recently moving from full-time to part-time. Gary and Carol also own the Family Furniture store in Park Rapids. Now that she has some free time she felt some volunteer work would be good. Her mother is 90 years old with occasional health issues so she knows the value of programs helping the elderly to stay in their homes. She looks forward to being part of this wonderful organization.

Upcoming Events

"SAVE THE DATE" Nov. 10 is our next Famous Rib Dinner. It will be held at the PR American Legion from 4:30-7:00. Come on out and have a great meal and great conversation with great friends. All in an effort to raise money so that Living at Home can keep doing what they do: help seniors so they can remain living in the home of their choice. Please tell your friends! We can't wait to see you all on November 10.
